Coaches' Corner

All coaches (head and assistant) of flag football, tackle football and cheerleading must complete our background check.  Please use the link above to begin the process.  The background screening is completed by the National Center for Safety Initiatives, LLC (NCSI).  Please read through each page carefully to ensure that all information is provided accurately.  This registration requires a person to enter an valid US Address.

Spring-Ford Youth Football & Cheer, in cooperation with USA Football, is striving to make football a safer game. With the addition of a dedicated USA Football Representative, all coaches are required to attend training and practice drills associated with safer tackling procedures.

USA Football’s Football Certification is a step-by-step protocol to teach the core principles of the skills and sets a new standard in player safety. The program utilizes fundamentals through a series of drills to reinforce proper tackling mechanics and to teach players how to properly tackle with a focus on reducing helmet contact.

To begin in the certification process, please go to USA Football and create an account, choosing the appropriate group (flag or tackle/ contactless or contact) and age group.  Once the certification is complete please email the certificate to: football.sfyfc@gmail.com. 

 Spring-Ford Youth Football & Cheer partners with USA Cheer to ensure all coaches are trained in the latest safety standards and techniques.

All cheer coaches are required to complete the following courses:

• USA Cheer Youth/Rec Safety & Risk Management
• USA Cheer Athletic Protection
• CrashCourse Concussion Training
