When you register your child to play football or cheer, there will be a place to volunteer to coach. After the Board of Directors evaluates all the registrations and requests, you will be notified and given further instruction. All coaches must complete background checks and football coaches must get the USA Football certification.

Can I drop my child off and leave while they are practicing?

Equipment and uniform fittings are typically held during the summer. The times and days will be posted on our website and you will also be notified via email. Multiple dates will be offered to accommodate different schedules.

No. A parent, or adult approved by the parent, must be present during practices. If a parent is attending practices for multiple children at different grade levels, please communicate with your coaches to let them know where you'll be in case of emergency (physical or weather emergency).

Yes. You will be assigned specific times to help at the snack stand and special events. We are an all-volunteer, non-profit organization; therefore, we are dependent on our volunteers. Our success is only accomplished by the support of our parents. Thank you in advance for your support!

Spring-Ford Youth Football & Cheer will provide a game jersey, game pants, foam helmet, flag set and mouthpiece. Cleats need to be purchased. We highly recommend purchasing an additional mouthpiece.

When are practices and scrimmages?

Practices are two days a week, primarily Tuesday and Thursday, until inter-league scrimmages begin. Once scrimmages begin, there is one practice and one scrimmage a week.  Practices are 60-90 minutes.

Where are practices and scrimmages held?

Flag evaluations are usually held in mid-August. The first practice will be held 1-2 weeks following evaluations.  Exact dates will be communicated by coaches.

Practices are held directly behind Spring-Ford's Upper Providence Elementary School at 833 S. Lewis Road, Royersford, PA  19468.  When inter-league scrimmages begin, the flag teams will move to the tackle facility (behind Spring-Ford's 5/6/7 Center, same address as above).

Home games are held at our facility located at 833 S. Lewis Road, Royersford, PA 19468. We are located directly behind Spring-Ford's 5/6/7 Center. Away games will be played at the opponents' fields (locations of fields will be provided via your team app or email once the schedule has been established).

Games are mainly played on Saturdays. Due to scheduling conflicts, some games may be played on Sundays.

Spring-Ford Youth Football & Cheer will provide a helmet, shoulder pads, game pants, game jersey and mouthpiece. Cleats, a practice jersey and practice pants need to be purchased. Practice jerseys and pants can be purchased from us. We highly recommend purchasing an additional mouthpiece.

Heat acclimation starts three weeks before Spring-Ford's first day of school. Full pad practices start two weeks before school starts. Games start the first weekend of September, usually Labor Day weekend.

Practices are Monday - Thursday, 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. until school starts. Once school starts, practices are Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m.

Yes.  Spring-Ford Youth Football & Cheer has 'minimum play requirements' at every level of football.

Although there are minimum play requirements, playing time may be reduced for missing games and/or practices.

The ICFL publishes the schedules by late August. Schedules will be communicated via the team scheduling app or email.

We limit the number of participants on each team to ensure players get quality instruction and fair opportunities for playing time.

When can a player return to regular football activity after an injury?

Games are mainly played on Saturdays. Due to scheduling conflicts, some games may be played on Sundays.

If a player's injury is minor, they will be able to return to regular football activity once they are cleared by their coaches. If the injury is more severe (i.e. head injury or broken bone), the player will need written clearance from their physician and clearance from the Board of Directors to return to regular football activity.

Spring-Ford Youth Football & Cheer will provide a skirt, shell, pom poms (blue/gold/white for September and pink for October), bows and track jacket.  The skirt, shell and pom poms are returned at the end of the season, the bows and track jackets are kept.  Bloomers and cheer sneakers will be available to purchase during fittings. If not purchasing cheer sneakers, all white sneakers are sufficient. A long sleeve white shirt and navy leggings will be needed for under the uniform when the weather gets cooler.

Cheer practice starts two weeks before Spring-Ford's first day of school.  During these weeks practice is held Monday - Thursday, 6 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.  Flag practice ends at 7 p.m.  Once school starts, cheer practice is Wednesday and Thursday.  In October, practice is one day a week (either Wednesday or Thursday) on the day that works best for the squad.  Practices will end at 7 p.m. as the days get shorter.

The cheerleaders cheer every weekend (unless there is a bye) at home and away games.

The game schedule will be published by the end of August. Cheerleaders will be assigned to a squad and will either follow a football team or rotate among multiple football teams. Schedules will be communicated via the team scheduling app or email.
